COERR Organized Para-Social Worker Training in Child Protection for Camp-based Refugee Staff

   Throughout October 2020, COERR Mae Sarieng, Mae Sot and Kanchanaburi organized Training to equip camp-based refugee staff with skills of efficient Para Social Work in Child and Family Protection.

   The curriculum has been developed to guide and train Para Social Workers to respond to the needs of children at risk in the Temporary Shelter for Displaced Persons. It also provided an overview of social work for in-depth understanding; roles and responsibilities of para-social workers to support vulnerable children in needs; code of conduct for CBRS to ensure ethical standard of social work performance; and children and family protection Process.

   Training methods included pretest and post test; lecture of contents with power point presentation; group discussions and reports; questions and answers, etc.

   COERR Mae Sarieng organized Para-Social Worker Training during October 6-8 and 19-22, 2020 at both temporary shelters: at Ban Mae Lama Luang Shelter, there were 19 camp-based refugee staff of 12 female and 7 male attending; at Ban Mae La Oon Shelter, there were 16 camp-based refugee staff of 8 female and 8 male attending.

   COERR Mae Sot organized Para-Social Work Training in Ban Umpiem Temporary Shelter during October 15-16, 2020 for all 18 female Camp-based refugee staff, then another training in Ban Nupho Temporary Shelter during October 28-29, 2020 for 16 CBRS of 13 female and 3 male.

   Para-social Worker Training organized by COERR Kanchanaburi was held at Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter during October 14-16, 2020. There were 8 CBRS of 7 female and 1 male attending.
